Chapter 10: The Virtue Of Tahlil (Saying La Ilaha Ill-Allah), Tasbih (Saying Subhan Allah) And (Du'a) Supplication - كتاب الذكر والدعاء والتوبة والاستغفار

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Two are the expressions which are light on the tongue, but heavy in scale, dear to the Compassionate One:" Exalted is Allah (He is free from imperfection) and all praise is due to Him" ;" Exalted is Allah (He is free from imperfection), the Great."
